I've been strongly advised to avoid mixing up academic and non-academic things on this site. That was almost certainly good advice, and one day I shall bitterly regret ignoring it. Today could be the day.

Still, I should at least advertise New Books in Language, a podcast series that I co-present. It's part of the New Books Network, a multi-disciplinary project that interviews non-fiction authors about their recent works. For me, it's a good excuse to talk to interesting people and read around some subjects that are only very loosely connected to my work.
